Since the outbreak of civil war in Somalia, in 1991, the communities in south Central regions have been subjected to enormous suffering and chronic poverty as they have lacked access to basic services such as education, health, clean water, etc., let alone any sort of developmental initiatives. Unfortunately, the young people, children, women, and disabled people have been the worst affected and their situation is desperate. The people in South central regions are alienated, M O Profile Page 3 demoralized, and deprived the hope of a normal social life in their local societies. They have suffered the violence of civil unrest, lost family members, being personally involved in the conflict, and recruitment into extremist groups and have been left with no education and very few or non-economic resources.
